Year 9 GCSE Options: Information for Parents and Carers.

 
As your child in Year 9 begins the exciting process of choosing their GCSE options, we want to ensure you have all the information you need to support them in making confident, well‑informed decisions. The options process is an important milestone, and our aim is to help every pupil build a pathway that reflects their strengths, interests, and future aspirations.
 
Throughout this term, pupils will receive guidance from their subject teachers, form tutors, and our careers team. They will explore the content of each course, understand how subjects are assessed, and discuss how different combinations of subjects can open doors to further study, apprenticeships, and future careers.
 
We encourage you to talk with your child about the subjects they enjoy, the areas where they perform well, and any long‑term goals they may be beginning to form. Choosing a balanced and motivating set of subjects is key to helping them thrive over the next two years.
 
More detailed information about each subject can be on our GCSE Options page, and our staff are always happy to answer any questions you may have. We hope this process feels supportive and constructive for both you and your child, and we look forward to working together to shape the next stage of their learning journey.

Student applications
september 2026!

You can now apply online for a place in secondary school for September 2026.
The closing date for receipt of applications for admission to year 7 in September 2026 is 03 November 2025.

Applications received after the closing date will be considered as late applications.
This means that your child may have less opportunity to be allocated to your preferred school if your application is received after the closing date.

For post 16 education, please apply directly to the relevant school or college.

You can also apply to change schools (for example, because of a house move) by clicking on "lets get started" below.

Christmas Jumper Day 2025

For Save the Children will be tomorrow Thursday 11th December 2025.To partake in this a contribution £1 can be paid via School Gateway or cash will be collected in Registration. Students can wear appropriate own clothes if they do not have a Christmas Jumper. Donate Here
